FORUM LINKS: This page is a collection of current links used by me, Huggybaby on the Magi-Soft and MWSData forums. When I see a commonly asked question, I can go here then cut and paste an answer, which saves me time and makes me seem like I have a prodigious memory.
TOOLS LINKS: The tools linked here are used daily. I favor tools that are simple to use, free, open source, specific, and powerful, in that order. Windows XP only addresses 3 Gig of RAM properly and there's no reason to fill it up unnecessarily!

HQ PICTURES AND THE MWSHQ PROJECT
"MWSHQ" Refers to High Quality pictures from MWSData (MWS Pictures Headquarters, Huggybaby commanding). These pictures are optimized for viewing (though they work well for printing) with Magic WorkStation, but will work with many other software programs. THEY ARE THE BEST AVAILABLE ANYWHERE.
What makes a scan "HQ" is determined at the Best Scanning Options Thread (http://www.mwsdata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=283).
If these pictures were any larger, they would bog down the program. Any smaller, and they would not allow for the future.
By convention, to keep all links brief and unambiguous:
"MWSHQ (2 or 3 Letter Set Name) Crops" means a full set of HQ cropped scan pictures.
"MWSHQ (2 or 3 Letter Set Name) Fulls" means a full set of HQ full card scan pictures.
"MWSHQ (2 or 3 Letter Set Name) Complete" means a full set that includes ALL crops AND ALL fulls.
No links to incomplete sets, or sets that are not HQ will be posted on this page. If a full set needs to be broken for uploading, it will be labeled "Part 1 of 2", "Part 2 of 2", etc.

Un Zippers I recommend 7-Zip. It will make zip files smaller than Winzip, and the 7-Zip LZMA format is usually much more efficient still.

Newbies AND Oldbies: It IS time for a clean install! Read on... TO BE UPDATED>>>
MWS FRESH INSTALL GUIDE, WITH LINKS
0. Uninstall. (Click the Unistall icon in the MWS directory. This will remove MWS from your computer.) If you're using version 0.94f, the MWS registry entry is removed as well, unlike with previous versions. Rename your remaining MWS directory to MWSOld or something similar. It will contain your themes and pics and decks, etc.
1. Install [url=http://www.mwsplay.net/download/mws094f.exe] MWS[/url]. (Download and run MWS094f.exe. Install everything to its default directory.)
2. Install the [url=http://www.mwsgames.com/index.php/Main_Page] MTG Gamepack[/url]. (Download and run the MTG Gamepack. This will allow you to play Magic with MWS.)
3. Run the MWS AutoUpdater to ensure you have the GuildPact update. (Either click the Autoupdater icon in the Magic Workstation folder or, with Magic Workstation running, go to Tools/Check MWS Site for Updates. You will have to close MWS before you can run Autoupdater.)
4. Update your Card Rulings from the internet by clicking File/Import/Import Rulings. (Card Rulings are displayed at the bottom of the MWS Library screen, and the links there go automatically to the Game Rulings.)
4a. Then install the [url=http://rapidshare.de/files/12527412/GameRulings.zip.html] Umezawa fix for Game Rulings[/url] (the Comprehensive Rules, which may also be accessed from the Help menu, or by double-clicking the GameRulings.chm file in the Data folder). To update the Game Rulings, unzip the file and put it into your Data folder, overwriting the old one.
5. Install a [url=http://www.magi-soft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4437] Theme[/url] and some [url=http://www.volcanichammer.com] Pics[/url], or copy your saved themes and pics and decks from MWSOld back to your new MWS. (Place your Themes in the Theme folder and your Pics in the Pics folder. Themes change the way MWS displays cards (such as pre-8th or post-8th edition card frames) and the play area while Pics are, obviously, pictures of the cards.)
5a. GuildPact compatible themes may be found at [url=http://www.angelfire.com/va/planeswlk/index.html] Planeswlk's Page [/url] under "My Patches/Workstation Sets/MWS Hiryu's Plus Classic pre-8th theme w GP" or at [url=http://www.slightlymagic.net/base.shtml] GoblinHero's Page[/url], where both the New and Old themes support GuildPact. (New and old in this case refers to new and old style card frames, not sets.)
6. Install [url=http://www.angelfire.com/va/planeswlk/index.html] Planeswlk's My Patches/Workstation Sets/MWS Fixed MagicTraders Price Bases[/url] by copying the two .mwPrice files into your Magic Workstation folder. Click on Tools/Price bases Management to view. (The MagicTraders prices are displayed in MWS so you can tell how much a particular card or deck costs.)
7. Install the [url=http://www.slightlymagic.net/base.shtml] GoblinHero Flavor base[/url]. Download and unzip GoblinHero's Master.mwBase and copy it into the Magic Workstation folder, then copy Sets.dat into the Data folder. (This masterbase contains cards from promotional sets and includes flavor text on cards.)
8. You are now completely current. If you installed the Goblinero base, DO NOT autoupdate MWS afterward, or your MWS install will become corrupted and out of date again. Also, do not autoupdate your MagicTraders prices, let Planeswlk do it for you.

Making Tokens Work

The key is the numbers.
Let us say you have two pictures in TK. One is Goblin.full.jpg and the other is Goblin1.full.jpg.
MWS shows token pictures based on the token's power and name. Goblin1.full.jpg will show up for any Goblin token with power 1 (and Beast4.full.jpg will show up for every Beast token with power 4, whether it is 4/1, 4/2, 4/3, 4/4, etc). For all other Goblin tokens, MWS uses the generic picture Goblin.full.jpg (and would use Beast.full.jpg for all other Beast tokens, like a 3/3, 5/5, or 1/1).
Finally, MWS only matches the token's power and the number if there are no spaces. Goblin1.full.jpg shows up for all 1/X Goblin tokens. But if you change the picture to Goblin 1.full.jpg, it will only show up for tokens named Goblin 1.
That is how I use multiple pictures for my tokens. If I want to put out three different pictures, then I make three different tokens: Beast, Beast 1, and Beast 2. Even though all three are 4/4 tokens, they have different pictures because of the names. _________________
